What is the Triangle?

This region gets its name from the Research Triangle, where 3 illustrious universities, Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State, converge just minutes apart from one another. Located in Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh respectively, all three universities are renowned for their decorated alum and Research Triangle Park contributions. Over time the Triangle region has expanded to include neighboring cities and towns, such as Cary, Apex, and Carrboro.

Known for its vibrant history and cultural diversity, the Triangle is full of all the museums, art galleries, and local lore your heart desires. At any moment you are a hop, skip, or step away from historical sights, beautiful parks and lakes, and award-winning music and cuisine. The summers are hot, the fall brings stunning foliage, the winters are short, and the springtime is as beautiful as you can imagine.

The opportunities for growth and equity in this area are boundless. With a strong economy and additional accolades, including one of the best cities to start a career or small business and most affordable place to retire, the Triangle is the perfect place for all walks of life.
