Getting Crafty at Knack DIY Craft Studio

Walk into Knack DIY Craft Studio and expect your crafty spidey sense to tingle. Drenched in their signature mint green, and boasting walls of ideas and supplies merchandised better than Target, Knack offers craft enthusiasts and wannabees a fun time and a quality final product.  

Knack DIY studio opened in 2018 and is located in The Falls River Town Center on Durant Road in North Raleigh.  It’s the first and only craft studio of its kind in Raleigh, although they plan to open more locations in the future.

Knack has quickly become a neighborhood favorite offering a range of projects for kids and adults.  Slime, the making of which is currently banned at our house, prompted our first visit.  Knack encourages walk-ins, and we were immediately greeted by a team member who walked us through our options, outfitted us with aprons and supplies, assisted when needed, and cleaned up when we were finished. Win! Our simple quest for slime morphed into two slimes, DIY nail polish, a succulent garden, and a customized pillow cover. It was two hours well spent, and while the tab grew pricier than first expected, I’m happy to report the slime is some of the best (and non-messy) slime my kids have owned, and I’m staring at my adorable toss pillow as I type.  Unfortunately, the succulent garden didn’t fare as well given it was left in the care of the six-year-old who made it.

Knack also plays host to events such as birthday parties, group workshops, BYOB adult events, and track out camps.  

We have returned to craft thoughtful teacher gifts, birthday gifts, and of course, MORE SLIME.
