Take a Weekend Trip to NC's Appalachian Mountains If the last two Raleigh snow storms were just a tease for you, head up to our beautiful mountains to enjoy the powder. I know many of you have your favorite mountains already,(mine is Beech Mtn. for N.C) but if you're new to the Carolinas you may not know there are several ski resorts to choose from: Go Ski NC Skiing or snowboarding may not be your thing, but the resort parks offer other activities like snow tubing, sledding, ice skating and snowshoeing. Beech, Sugar and Hawksnest mountains offer amazing snow tubing runs ranging from $32-$45/1.5 hours depending on the day. More info
