For all the stink my neighborhood can raise when yet another grocery store is proposed in our vicinity (good try, Publix), one might think the new Sprouts Farmers Market is an unwelcome intruder.   Yet the Sprouts parking lot has been jammed-packed since it’s soft open on March 14th.  It’s the first Sprout’s location in North Carolina, and therefore a great grocery store mystery to most of us outside of those who migrated here from Arizona or Atlanta.  “A watered-down Whole Foods!  “A glorified Trader Joe’s!”  That was the word on the street while awaiting opening day.  

As a thirty-something mother-of-two, my “girls night out” have evolved accordingly.   Less often are Saturday nights hitting the hot spots of downtown (sigh) and more often are civilized evenings with less need for Uber rides. But that doesn’t mean our GNO are any less fun or the company any less amazing.

I’ve heard the rumblings of Magellan Charter School’s greatness well before my oldest was ever a student in the wake county public school system, and the school’s stellar reputation increases in my various parent circles as she inches towards third grade (Magellan serves grades 3-8). Yet rarely can anyone tell me very much about the school.  It begged me to ask, what’s all the fuss?
